Dr. Tanya Bengali is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She earned her Doctorate in Nurse Practice in May 2014. Previous to that she completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of South Florida in 2006. Tanya practiced as a RN from 2006 to 2013, specializing in critical care. She graduated from The University of Central Florida Family Nurse Practitioner Program in August 2012 with a Masters of Science in Nursing and became board certified in family medicine in October 2012.
She then pursued her doctorate in nursing, focusing on depression screening in primary care, and received her DNP in May 2014. She worked in family medicine from 2013 to 2016, transitioning to mental health in 2017. In October 2018, she graduated from Brandman University with a post doctoral degree in psychiatry and mental health. She got her board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in December 2018.
She is an active member of The American Association of Nurse Practitioners, The California Association for Nurse Practitioners, and American Psychiatric Nurses Association. She has acted as a mentor for many nursing students and also assisted in being a preceptor to nursing students and nurse practitioner students. Tanya is very passionate about mental health and strives to provide health services that place emphasis on both care and cure. Her focus is to help her patients be as healthy and happy as possible.
